The advantages of a good self-assessment

How honest are you with yourself

There are a lot of fake people in the world who like to hoodwink others into believing that they’re better off than you. People who lie without remorse, who do not care how it affects others. My question to you is: Are you like these people? How honest are you, and how far will you go to defend, and protect a lie?

Your character is determined through your actions. What you do in your day-to-day life shows us what kind of a person you are. There are people who lie through their teeth. It’s second nature. Not speaking the truth is them… and I wonder how one gets to that level of delusion.

Beware that you do not fall into this pit. Because you will fail to get out of it when you want to get out of it. Lying about your qualifications. Stature. Family. Relationships… we do a lot to please others and when you do this you cannot control it forever. The world will laugh at you in the end. You’ll prove them correct once that foul smell hits the fan. You’ll be left naked which can lead to devastating results.

Don’t lie about yourself. Be who you are and love yourself. You don’t have to like it. That’s why developing yourself can get you out of bad situations, but don’t lie. Lying is corrosive. It eats away at you leaving festering wounds. When you degrade yourself you hurt your truth and leave yourself vulnerable to manipulation. Cohesion is easy to adopt when you don’t have a good character.

Why being honest with yourself leads to emotional intelligence

When I know my limitations I do better. When I know I cannot jump that high, I use a ladder. That’s emotional intelligence explained as simple as possible. When I know my limitations I do better. When I know I cannot jump that high, I use a ladder. So being honest with yourself allows you to see possibilities, and not disadvantages.

Don’t bamboozle yourself. Having to say things which aren’t true. Having to do things which cost you. In the long run, everything you do, good and bad, comes around. I prefer to be authentic all the time. Not on Monday’s to get the mood sorted for the week. Not on Friday’s or Sunday’s. I am authentic all the time. Do the same even if it annoys people. Even if it loses you friends. Rather live an authentic life than work 10 times harder to do something which will inevitably lead to failure.

Conclusion

Do you love yourself? You may not like yourself at times, and that’s okay. Deep down always favor who you are no matter what. When you’re honest with yourself situations will not control you. You’ll be the master of your destiny. You will say no when it’s bad, and yes when it’s good.
