Why you oversleep during the day and why it's hard to sleep at night

We’d like to acknowledge, Leanne Velia. Who commented on one of our podcasts, entitled: Podcast Link Failure to control mood swings may lead to depression. Leanne asked this question. Why do I oversleep during the day, and it’s hard to sleep at night?

So Leanne. In my opinion. Oversleeping during the day is common. I remember when I used to have this routine. If you’re not doing anything. If you’re not learning, working, have a hobby, sleeping a lot during the day happens. What else can you do if you don’t find ways to stimulate yourself?

For me, I used to sleep intentionally just to get the day to move. I’d watch a lot of television at night, because I slept all day and I wasn’t tired at night. So my day and night routine was upside down. Why did this happen to me? It happened when I didn’t have a job. I didn’t like going out, so home was my base. And because I didn’t have hobbies I couldn’t burn time outside with friends and family. Which made me sleep a lot just to pass the time.

This went on for sometime until I read about the importance of keeping yourself busy. Do something good which can change your life. Do something healthy and make use of your time. Meaning, when I use my time productively, I benefit from it. So I started to read things I liked. I love sports. I love food. I love construction. I love learning about things which interest me. And in time, it led me to experiment.

Why you oversleep during the day and why it’s hard to sleep at night

This was around the time I got to learn about Robert T. Kiyosaki. The author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad. A book which changes your behavior when it comes to business, strategy, and mental well-being. Long story short, I used my time wisely. I kept myself busy doing things I liked and it helped me re-calibrate my sleeping habits back to normal. It’s not okay to sleep during the day and be up at night if you’re not working. It’s important to keep yourself busy by doing things you like.

The advantages of a good routine

When you keep yourself busy, doing things you like. Time passes by and you’ll like how it passes by. So, Leanne. Firstly, we recommend seeing a doctor to make sure your sleeping habits aren’t because of a medical condition. Second. Do something you like. During this time you’re likely to sleep during the day. Change your behavior because it helped me, and I know it can help you.

And that’s it. Thank you for tuning in. Remember to comment, and share our messages.
