Let’s talk about the art of checking people or putting people in their place. The biggest question is, is it really worthy of your time? It’s understandable and expected that outside factors in life can be overwhelming at times, especially when you have some adversities to navigate through. Everyone has an opinion on everything, so expect some to overshare their knowledge, which in most cases is not conducive to your situation (speaking from a different era of time, unique situations, just absolutely all-around horrible input). My best advice is to handle it accordingly. Do whatever seems right at the time, but also with future state in mind. If there is no future impact on how things will play out, I suggest leaving it alone. Learn to let folks say whatever they want to say. Know that listening does not always require a response or taking action on their behalf. There’s no need to burn unnecessary bridges, my friend. If you have the tolerance, say thank you and keep trucking along 🚚. Every decision we make is critical when it comes to family, work, and play. It’s even harder balancing it all at the same time. The best way to manage it is to measure each task in all three categories with care. Some tasks (other people’s advice) come with detail. It’s your job as the general to call the shots in the war room. You run the operations of your life, remember that.
“Do whatever you want to do, Say whatever you want to say… nobody has to deal with consequences but Yourself (most cases)”
