The key to success is to work on your well-being

Reason 1: I stopped drinking

alcohol bottles

I used to be a bad drinker. I would drink and vomit. I’d pass out, and I wouldn’t remember some of the things I had done while I was drinking. People would laugh and tell me, ‘Do you remember taking all those shots?’ I’d laugh and say yes, but honestly, I didn’t remember. My family has seen the worst of me, I had a lot of fun drinking, but it came at a cost. You cannot look back at past mistakes and hope that it never happened. But in this moment, when you’re present and aware of your past failures. It’s good to work on your emotional growth. In this message, I’ll give you reasons why I did 3 things to stop myself from failing. Because if I hadn’t chosen myself first, I would’ve failed.

Reason 2: I asked for help

ask for help

I think if I hadn’t told myself that what I was doing wasn’t benefiting my life, I would’ve failed. I remember one day when my mom spoke to me. She didn’t shout, and she didn’t degrade me. She asked me, ‘Clive, why do you drink so much because clearly it’s not bringing out the best in you?’ I’d get upset after our talks. Especially the morning after on a sunday because I heard her when she was talking, and she was right. But I wanted to be with my friends and have fun.

In time, what she said would reverberate. I’d hear her voice asking me, ‘Clive, why do you drink so much because clearly it’s not bringing out the best in you?’ In time, I made a decision. I chose to ask for the help I needed in order to live a better life. I asked some older guys who didn’t drink. I got the courage to tell them about my experiences with alcohol. One guy who became my mentor said that he, too, didn’t find alcohol beneficial in his life. And when he stopped drinking, his life became better. I liked his open approach, and I told myself that if my friends didn’t like me not drinking, then it was okay. But do you know what! They’re still my friends 15 years later. They drink when we go out, but I wake up feeling great because I don’t drink anymore.

The moral of this story is that if I kept on drinking to please my friends, I would’ve failed. I chose myself, and it worked.

Reason 3: Chase your dream

Don’t be afraid to chase your dream. I’m happy that I pursued my goal, and I’m benefiting from it. P.S. If this message is helpful. Please use the link in my profile to donate funds and help me share my messages with others. We need a community of helpers that help when we ask for it. Chase your dream. It helped me focus and vision a life where I’d do what I love, and I’d be sober doing it. I’d see all the celebrities who failed because of substance abuse, and I’d be glad that I stopped before money and success managed to mix with my drinking lifestyle.

Conclusion

Reasons why I did 3 things to stop myself from failing. I wasn’t always a responsible person. It took a lot of hard work, but in the end, it was beneficial. Set goals for yourself. If you’re doing something that’s affecting your life in a negative way, maybe it’s time to stop. And if you’re thinking about stopping, all I can say to you is well done.
