Protest To God

Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?”

One of the negative attitudes that most people have is a lack of gratitude or never satisfied with what they have or receive. The real manifestation of the attitude of being ungrateful or never satisfied is complaining, grumbling, nagging, and even daring to protest to God. A protest is a statement of disapproval, opposition, or denial. People protest to God because they feel that their living circumstances are not the same as others, or that others are better and more fortunate than them. We feel that God has acted unjustly or favoritorily. Then in my heart came a deep sense of disappointment and bitterness.

Who are we to dare to protest to God? “But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this? ‘ Roman 9:20

If we contemplate how great God’s love and grace is in this life, there is no reason for us not to give thanks to Him. Whatever we are made of, our hearts should still be overflowing with thanksgiving, because God knows what is best for our lives. If we are given material abundance, but our physical bodies are always sick, we are likely to complain and protest to God. Money, wealth, rank, and all the comforts that exist are not a guarantee for a person not to protest to God, but can make his heart move further away from God.

Be thankful for where we are today. Doesn’t the potter have the right to shape the clay according to his heart’s will? Either making furniture for noble purposes or furniture for ordinary purposes. Nagling, grumbling, and protesting against God is not the way out! The best way is to submit completely to God’s will and remain grateful.

I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”. Roman 9:15
